Bhutan, officially the Kingdom of Bhutan is a landlocked country in the Eastern Himalayas in South Asia. Bhutan tour starts with a flight to Paro (2240m) and a 2-hour drive to Thimphu (2350m), the capital city of Bhutan. It boasts of a number of magnificent monuments including the Memorial Chorten of Modern Bhutan and Sirntokha Dzong, 6 km from the city. Sinrntokah Dzong is the kingdom’s oldest and is now used as a Dzongkha Language school. Rice, corn, and wheat fields provide serene surroundings. After the Thimphu tour we drive back to Paro, the valley offers the famous Drugkyel Dzong, Fortress of the Victorious Drukpa sect of Vajrayana Buddhism. The National Museum, Paro Dzong, and local market are additional sightseeing highlights.
