Manaslu treks are a classic, adventurous & undoubtedly one of the best treks around the west-central part of Nepal. Mt. Manaslu is the 7th highest mountain of Nepal and also 8th highest of the world with an altitude of 8163m. The Sanskrit word ‘Manaslu’ means ‘mountain spirit’ and this spirit reflects into the peaceful villages and valleys around it. The first footprint on the top of this mountain was by the Japanese expedition group in 1956.
Manaslu Conservation area is one of the restricted areas in Nepal. Due to the many sacred areas and culturally sensitive villages close to Tibet the Nepal government is invested in conserving this area. The trek route follows the ancient salt-trading route. Beautiful off the beaten trails take us through blooming rhododendron and pine forests, delightful meadows, rocky high cliffs & giant gorges alongside the Budhi-Gandaki River. Manaslu is a famous sanctuary of endangered wild animals like Himalayan Tahr, Blue Sheep, and Snow Leopards. Glacial saddle Larkey La Pass (5,160m) is the highest point of this trek which lies on the north side of Manaslu. This trek introduces you to the cultural, traditional & natural beauty along with the lifestyle of different ethnic groups of the Manaslu region. Unlike other trekking areas, this trekking region is often less crowded. Manaslu is flanked magnificently by Annapurna to the west and by Ganesh Himal to the east. The spectacular wall created by mountains like Himchuli, Cheo Himal, Namjung, and Gyang Kyang along with other numerous mountains are stunning.
The trek can be customized to suit the individual client and their interests. ie the start and finish point can be changed to suit the client. On this trip we are walking on sub-tropical Himalayan foothills to arid Trans-Himalayan high pastures bordering Tibet. We can also customize this trek to include side trips such as Bihi village, Tsum Valley, Sringi Gumpa, Kal Tal and many more towards the Tibet border. Because the trek is remote it can be physically demanding but culturally enriching and naturally uplifting. Be ready to experience the untouched beauty of the Manaslu region.
