trip Overview

Nestled at the foot of the Himalayas, established in 1973 AD, Chitwan National Park is the oldest national park in Nepal. Covering an area of 952.6 sq. km, this national park lies in the subtropical inner Terai lowlands of south-central Nepal. East of this protected area is Parsa National park whereas on the north and west side of the park is Narayani & Rapti river establishing a natural boundary to human settlements.

Our Chitwan National Park tour starts with the scenic drive to Chitwan from the capital city Kathmandu. Rest days of the tour, we will spend exploring & enjoying the majestic Chitwan National Park with its amazing landscapes. There are two entrances to the national park, Sauraha in the east, and Meghauli village in the west. Above 70% of the national park is the forest which is the home of different types of floras, faunas, and birds defining the eco-system. This protected area is home to 68 different species of mammals including the last population of one-horned Asiatic rhinoceros. Also, it is the best Tiger habitat anywhere in the world & considered to have the highest density of Sloth Bears. Leopards, Bengal foxes, spotted linsangs, honey badgers, and stripped hyenas roam in the jungle for prey.

Besides, this park provides a great platform for dedicated bird watchers & conservationists as it holds over 500 species of birds. Also, we can experience the cultural & traditional aspects of the Tharu community. Activities like Elephant bathing, Canoe ride, village walking, and visiting gharials & elephant breeding centers are highlights of this tour. Elephant back safari or Jeep safari into the dense forests exploring the park will provide you with an experience of a lifetime.
