trip Overview

Manaslu Trek – A Journey Through the Remote Himalayas

The Manaslu Trek is one of Nepal’s most remarkable and rewarding Himalayan adventures, leading trekkers through the untouched wilderness of the Manaslu Conservation Area in the northwest of Kathmandu. This extraordinary journey takes travelers to the base of Mount Manaslu (8,163 m) — the world’s eighth-highest peak. The name Manaslu, derived from the Sanskrit word Manasa meaning “soul,” translates to the “Mountain of the Soul,” symbolizing its deep natural and spiritual significance. Organized by Nepal Dream Path Treks, the Manaslu Trek offers a rare combination of breathtaking scenery, rich cultural encounters, and spiritual tranquility. The trail passes through traditional mountain villages, ancient monasteries, and stunning glacier lakes, providing trekkers with an authentic Himalayan experience far from the crowds of mainstream routes.

Beginning with a scenic drive to Soti Khola, the route gradually ascends through lush subtropical forests, terraced farmlands, and alpine meadows, offering spectacular views of the Manaslu and Ganesh Himal ranges. The region’s pristine ecosystem shelters rare wildlife, including the Himalayan Tahr, Blue Sheep, and the elusive Snow Leopard. Along the journey, trekkers witness a harmonious blend of Tibetan and Nepalese cultures, reflected in local architecture, customs, and spiritual practices. The trek concludes at Syange, followed by a return to Kathmandu, leaving adventurers with lasting memories of towering peaks, untouched landscapes, and warm Himalayan hospitality. With both teahouse and full camping options available, Nepal Dream Path Treks ensures a safe, comfortable, and truly fulfilling experience through one of Nepal’s most remote and spiritually inspiring trekking routes.

The trek starts after having breakfast and heading towards our destination with lots of effort. On this trail, we should gradually climb up to reach Larkey La Pass, and it is quite difficult to climb. So the trekkers should be physically fit and they should follow the guide's advice. When we reach the top of Larkey La Pass, we dismiss all our tiredness due to the sight of Mt. Annapurna II, Himlung, Cheo Himal, Gyaji Kang, Larkey Peak, Namjung Himal, Ratnachuli, and so on. After that, the trail descends to the Bimthang. The scenery of the trail is very nice, but if there is snow, it is very difficult to descend to Bimthang. We overnight stay at Bimthang.
