trip Overview
The Nar Phu Valley trek is one of Nepal’s famous treks that is located in the far-off area of the Manang District of Nepal. It requires you to have a particular permit for this region because this region is a restricted area of Nepal. It encompasses the far-off villages of Nar and Phu, enchanting forests, stunning rock formations, yaks, Kang La Pass, and Himalayan culture. You should be physically fit to complete this trek because it gives you a mesmerizing scenery, an extension of the Annapurna Circuit tea house trek behind the Annapurna Himal.
The Nepal Dream Path begins the Nar Phu Valley Trek by taking us through the journey from Kathmandu to Chamje, which is the starting point of the Annapurna Circuit. In the process, we get a glimpse of the fantastic views of various mountain peaks such as Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Tilicho. The trip involves seeing the colorful Tibetan chortens and cutting stones to carve deep canyons and gorges, allowing us to understand the villagers in Phu Valley. However, this is not just about two villages in the valley; we see villages like Manang, Chamje, Meta, and Kyang on our way to the Nar Phu trekking route. Vegetation is changing to alpine and sub-alpine scrub, which is a habitat of blue sheep (Bharal) and snow leopards.
Two of the main passes are Thorong La Pass and Kang La Pass. In the middle of the trek, for two days, one goes up to the pass named Kang La and then descends again to the village named Ngawal. As trekkers go through these two passes, they feel like they are going to heaven. The best seasons to go on the trek are spring and fall.
