trip Overview
Peekay & Dudh Kunda is mafnificent journey that follows the classic trail to Everest for some days and then diverting to off the beaten path towards Peekay ridge for grand views of Mt. Everest and surrounding high peaks including Numbur, from Lamjura joining the trail to Junbesi then again on the less frequented path towards the Dudh Kunda the holy glacial pond beneath the mighty peaks of Numbur.
The Dudh Kunda Trek is a unique blend of spiritual significance, natural beauty, and remote Himalayan adventure. Nestled beneath the revered peak of Numbur Himal, Dudh Kunda—locally known as the sacred lake of Shorong Yul Lha, the guardian deity of the Solu region—is one of Nepal’s most important pilgrimage destinations. According to local belief, taking a holy dip in the pristine waters of Dudh Kunda cleanses the sins of a hundred lifetimes and grants the wishes of devoted pilgrims.
Set amidst spectacular alpine landscapes, the lake offers breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Everest, Numbur Himal, Kwangde Ri, and the eastern Himalayan range. The journey traverses dense forests of rhododendron, magnolia, pine, hemlock, and oak, creating a vibrant natural sanctuary. During spring and early summer, the hillsides burst into color with blooming rhododendrons and wildflowers, transforming the region into a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.
Unlike the busier Everest trekking routes, the Dudh Kunda Trek provides a peaceful and authentic Himalayan experience. The trail follows part of the historic route from Jiri before branching onto remote, off-the-beaten-path tracks, leading trekkers through several days of untouched wilderness and traditional mountain villages. Nepal Dream Path Treks begins this unforgettable journey from Jiri and concludes it with a scenic flight from Phaplu, offering an exceptional combination of cultural discovery, spiritual enrichment, and breathtaking Himalayan scenery.
