Nepal contains most of the Himalayas, the highest mountain range in the world. Eight of the fourteen eight-thousander are located in the country, either in whole or shared across a border with China or India. Nepal has the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest as well as 1,310 peaks over 6,000 m height. The five most famous Mountains are as follows:

The Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in Nepal and also the highest mountain of the Earth. It is located at the altitude of 8,848.86 meters above the sea level and located in Solukhumbu District of Nepal on the Khumbu Mahalangur Himalaya Range. It is on the top list of Nepal mountains and is recognized for its height, panorama scene and beauty. It is also called “Sagarmatha” in the Nepali language which is given by the Nepali historian Baburam Acharya. Everest region in Nepal is the most popular and famous trekking region in the country.

The second highest mountain of Nepal and the world’s third-highest ‘Kanchenjunga’ lies in the Taplejung District, Province No. 1. It has a height of 8,586 meters (28,169 ft) and is also known as ‘the five treasures of snow’ as it consists of five prominent peaks.
Kanchenjunga was known as the highest peak of the world, but later, in 1856, it was officially announced as the world’s third highest. It consists of four climbing routes, three of which are in Nepal, and one is from Sikkim in India. It is also one of the famous Mountains in Nepal.

A fifth of the world and the fourth highest mountain of Nepal is an isolated peak (shape of a four-sided pyramid with snow and ice) that lies on the border between China and Nepal in Province No. 1. Manaslu is the 8th highest peak in the world, which is located about 40 miles east of Annapurna in the Gorkha District. It is measured 8,163 meters from sea level. The glacial ridges and valleys offer viable ways from all directions, and it ends in the mountain that towers steeply above its landscape. Manaslu is originated from the Sanskrit word Manasa which means mountain of the spirit.
The well-known trekking in the Manaslu region is Manaslu Trekking, also called Manaslu circuit Trek.

1st Ascending Date: June 3, 1950 Mount Annapurna I is the tallest peak in the Annapurna Mountain range. It is the tenth highest mountain in the world with an elevation of 8,091m Annapurna region is protected under the Annapurna conservation Area in Nepal. It is considered one of the toughest mountains to climb. Mount Annapurna was climbed over by a French expedition team in 1950 for the first time. It’s summited and successfully climbed by rare climbers because of its difficult steep terrain and unpredictable weather and risk of avalanches. It’s one of the most technical mountains in the world and not for inexperienced mountaineers. Thus, Nepal is home to the highest peaks in the world.
