trip Overview

KurKalinchowk Jiri Trek is a newly open trail, that lies east of Kathmandu. This trek is famous as a religious destination and also a good viewpoint from where we can see the beautiful panorama views. Many people come from different places of different caste and it is the perfect example of religious ideology. In the winter season, Kalinchowk temple, as well as nearby places, are almost covered with snow. Rhododendron forests, wild animals, and birds are found in this region as well as the tremendous view of the Himalayas can melt your heart easily. The Himalayas like Gaurishankar Himal [7134m], Ganesh Himal [7422m], Langtang Himal [7205m], and Jugal Himal can make the trek more interesting and memorable.

Jiri lies in the eastern part of Nepal in the Dolkha district and is around 184 km far away from Kathmandu valley. Jiri is known as the gateway to the world’s highest mountain Mt. Everest. There are several agriculture development centers built by the Swiss government, such as cheese factories, yak farms, and many more. Mostly we found Jirels and Sunuwar people around the Jiri. The landscape and climate of Jiri are somehow similar to Switzerland, that is why it is called or known as Switzerland of Nepal.

Kalinchowk with Jiri trekking

2017

My wife and I have travelled to Nepal three times with Nepal Dream Path, having been ourselves recommended by friends of ours who have travelled to Nepal with him over many years.

We got back from our most recent trip in October, and although DP, the owner, couldn’t be our guide this time (he was guiding our friends at the same time), we still had an excellent trip and DP ensured that everything went smoothly (well, as smoothly as things can go in Nepal!). He always endeavours to be clear and transparent about what is involved, the costs and the options available: wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.
