Manaslu Rupina-la Circuit Trek is one of the most adventure trekking less ventured by other trekking companies or by westerners to Rupinala at 4,720m a challenging, adventurous as well as strenuous trekking area, situated in the southern Manaslu region of Gorkha district officially opened for trekkers in 1991. Rupina la Pass routes leads to spectacular as well as unbeaten trail of the Manaslu region.”

Manaslu Rupina-la Circuit Trek is best for those adventure seekers who love adventurous activities and strenuous walks. This trek offers you to witness the 8th highest peak of the world with your own eyes Mt.Manaslu (8163m) (26871ft). This trekking region leads through many villages mainly inhabited by Gurung; Magars offers trekkers a chance to be a part of amazing culture and tradition. We pass rhododendron and pine forest, with the exceptionally varied geographical terrain. The trek offers awesome breath-taking views of Himalayan scenery, beautiful landscapes, and lush valleys. It also offers us rivers, waterfalls, and many species of animals as well as birds on the trekking route.

With Nepal Deam Path Treks the journey begins from the hidden path of Kanchok and Sulighat and reaches the highest point of this adventure at the top ridge of Rupinna la Pass, then reaching the mid-point of Tsum and upper Manaslu area at Lokpa region and completing this wonderful memorable adventure at Arughat Bazaar which is also an old market near the bank of the river Budhi Gandaki.

5-6 hrs walk Full Board [Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner] Tea house

Morning drive to Gorkha and continue to Khancowk an interesting drive through foothills of high Himalaya, the journey passes rural villages and towns, with the occasional view of Mt. Ganesh, Manaslu, and as far to Annapurna. Route diverts from the Pokhara highway from the village of Abu Khaireni, from here the road climbs all the way to Gorkha. (a hill bazaar and the ancestral home of the Shah dynasty which ruled Nepal to this day. It is from here that King Prithvi Narayan Shah started his conquest of the country's various tiny kingdoms and unified them into a single nation, Nepal. Perched one thousand feet above Gorkha Bazaar, the palace dominates the surroundings and is visible from all around the area. The palace also boasts beautiful architecture. Although only Hindus are allowed to enter the palace premises, it is worthwhile walking up the stairs for the view) After Gorkha, continue the drive for a few hours on the pleasant trail to Khanchowk, the drive leads through close to the magnificent palace fort of Gorkha the seat of the many Kings of Shah dynasty. The drive leads to numerous farm villages and paddy fields with an occasional view of the snowy peaks of Manaslu and Himalchuli. After six hours of the scenic journey brings you to the village of Khanchowk on the ridge top for the overnight camp. The camp is made in and around this small farm village.

Morning walk leads downhill for a while passing through farm terraces and scattered rural villages of Lajugaon and climbing up towards Deuarli at near 2,120m with a grand view of snow-covered peaks from Annapurna range to Manaslu mountains of Hiuchuli and Boudha peaks and lower valley near of Kanachok, from here the path winds downhill passing through the village of Bhulabari, Gyanji (Talakhani) before reaching to the village of Sulikot for the overnight stop.

The morning walk starts with a slow climb uphill towards the Kharchok bhanjyang at around 2, 440 meters before reaching Majhghar for the overnight stop, the walk of a few hours leads to the top ridge of Kharchok bhanjyang (not to be confused with the first day stop of Khanchok) the top offers grand scenery of the snow-capped peaks towards north and north-west and overlooking the green valley’s down below, the journey descends to the Kharchok village before reaching at Majhghar village for the overnight camping.

After a pleasant time at Majhghar walk leads on the gradual winding path through the patch of the forest past the villages of Thallothotaneri, Thalegaon, and Pangsing before heading to an uphill climb towards Leh Kharka at 2,770 meters grazing summer pastures for the villages of down below, the walk on the downhill and gradual path through the rhododendron forest called Gurash and then reaching the base of Pekma kharka at 3,140m walking uphill for an hour reaching the highest at Pekma-Kharkaends before Dharche for the overnight camp small hill villages of Magar and Gurung ethnic tribes.

From Dharche trek through the cool shade of forest reaching Kamdani, Sumpi-Kharka with few up and downs along the way, the walk leads to a climb at Gupsi danda at 2,760 meters with panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes and of the high Annapurna and Manaslu range of mountains the path meanders on the winding trail to Bede for the overnight stop in of the grassy meadows, Bede a summer pasture area for the villagers.

The walk from here takes slowly to a cooler area passing several small ridges with up and downhill walk through the forest and clear grazing areas with super scenery along the way, the path sometimes can be misleading from here onwards as few locals and trekkers venture around this area, after a good walk of 5 hours reaching to the overnight camp at Kharka another summer pasture and grazing place for the cattle’s of the local villagers.

The morning walk leads further north to the Rupina-la area and to Gambogang leaving the thin patch of the forest area of rhododendron, oaks, and pines reaching a ridge at Gambogang at near 3,870m the walk leads further near the base of Rupina-la after short descent from Gambogang for the overnight stop on the moraine and patch of the grassy area were available for the nice camping spot.

The hardest and highest elevation of this journey leads to the narrow path of rocks and moraine with superb views of the high snow-capped peaks of Manaslu range the closest being the Boudha-Himal, the walk uphill for an hour reaching the top of Rupina-la the pass at 4,720 meters, the top small rocky spots in the snow the crossing can be challenging due to the narrow small path and can get slippery in a few sections, the downhill can be quite slippery on ice and glacier of the nearby peaks of Boudha Himal 6,672m and Rani peak ( Lidani peak) at 6,693 the walk on the winding thin trail leads to the overnight camp just after few hours of descending where camping is available after vigorous walks of 5-6 hours.


6 hrs walk Full Board [Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner] Camping Tent

After a hard walk of the previous day, the walking is much easier compared to Day 10 however there are a few sections one has to be very careful descending near the glacial area, the good walk leads past the small grazing area of Jarang 3,420 meters and walking downhill for another 2-3 hours to the overnight stop at Zakbatang near the Rebing Khola (stream) after a good walk of 5-6 hours.

The journey leads back to human settlements and villages after being in the wilderness for 5-6 days, the walk leads downhill with a few small ups and gradual sections then reaching Gomna a small herder's temporary place, and finally, the trekking leads to the suspension bridge over the raging Buri-Gandaki River before reaching to the village of Lokpa where the road to Upper Manaslu, Larkya-La pass and to Tsum Valley joins.


4-5 hrs walk Full Board [Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner] Camping Tent

Trek today will be the finest through several farm villages on the gradual and downhill path with warm climate during the day’s walk, the main trail which leads to Manaslu round and Tsum valley, today’s walk reaches the villages of Philim small farm villages but slowly growing up due to construction of jeeps dirt road in near future.

Morning walk leads on the gradual winding trail through forest and farmlands before a steep descent to Sirdibas and then to a village of Salleri, where some of these villages have stone-paved paths and meeting mule and donkey trains and caravans carrying supplies for upper Manaslu and Tsum area, the journey then ends at Jagat after a pleasant walk of 5 hours, Jagat a large hill village of mixed tribes of Bhotia’s of Manaslu-Tsum and Gurung-Magars-Chettris, Newars and Dalits.

On leaving Jagat the day gets warmer as the path descends to more climate area of paddy fields the walk leads to a village of Yaruphant, Dobhan, and to the hot spring at Tatopani where pilgrims storm inauspicious to bathe in the hot spring water believes it heals several skin disease from here the walk is pleasant most of the way till Machhakhola village for the overnight camp, a small village and it was popular for small fishes from the near stream called Machhakhola (meaning fish stream).

The final day walks, is on the gradual winding path which leads to a few short ups with a more or less downhill walk, passing through smaller farm villages and cultivated fields till reaching towards the warmer sub-tropical area, coming to the large village of Arughat, clustered on both sides of the River Burhi-Gandaki linked by a suspension bridge, this is the largest settlement in the valley and it is also a junction to various important places. The path from here across the River leads to Dhading & Trisuli Bazaar, and the other west trail leads towards Pokhara, as today's walk is quite short of 4 to 5 hours with time for a visit to the village or for the cool splash in the Bhuri Gandaki River.

After breakfast drive leads through the winding road towards Kathmandu with a wonderful and memorable time in the mountains, the return journey is made through the alternative route Dhading as it is more accessible and shorter reaching Kathmandu on time.
