The two-storied pagoda of Pashupatinath houses the five-faced statue of Lord Shiva. Swyambunath is the holy Buddhist temple and also known as the monkey temple listed as a world heritage site and is the major hub for tourists in the valley. It is on one of the hills of the valley from where we can see attractive surroundings around the valley. Historians believe that the history of Swyambhunath Stupa is as old as the history of the Kathmandu Valley. It was immersed below water when the whole Kathmandu Valley was the big lake. When Manjushree cut a gorge and drained the water of the lake, a stupa was built around the lotus that emitted a brilliant light. There are numerous monasteries in and around the Swyambhunath Stupa area.

Boudhanath is the holy temple of Buddhists and is also listed as a world heritage site. Bouddhanath is one of the largest stupas in entire South Asia. Situated in Bouddha, s short drive from Thamel, the white mound looms 36 meters overhead. Believed to have been constructed in the 5th century, there are many monasteries around the stupa as the area has been inhabited by people having faith in Buddhism. Buddhist monks in maroon robes are seen circumambulating the stupa with prayer wheels in their hands. Numerous small stupas are located at the base.

Changunarayan is also the holiest temple of Hindus listed in the world heritage site situated at the hill of Bhaktapur valley dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is one of the most ancient temple complexes in Nepal as it houses the inscription of Mandel, the first historical king in Nepal. The temple believed to have been constructed in the third century; is adorned by some of the best samples of stone, wood, and metal Craft. There are many statues and inscriptions in the temple area that are culturally and archaeologically important.

Places to visit outside Kathmandu Valley:

Pokhara
Pokhara is one of the major Touristic attractions of Nepal. There are lots of places that are successful in attracting tourists with their beauty and environment. After a drive of 200km from Kathmandu valley, we will reach Pokhara valley which is gifted by nature and surrounded on all sides by mountains. There are lots of tourist attractions in the valley some of them are Phewa Lake, Davis fall, Mahendra cave, Bindabasini temple, Sarangkot, world peace stupa, and many others. We also can do different kinds of adventurous activities in Pokhara such as bungy jumping, boating, paragliding, and cycling. There are lots of hotels and restaurants specially designed for tourists in Pokhara. Pokhara is one of the tourist hubs of Nepal, where we can see lots of tourists than Nepali. Pokhara is also the gateway entrance for the Annapurna and mustang trekking zone.

Chitwan
Chitwan is also one of the Tourist Attraction In Nepal. The Chitwan National Park is the main attraction of Chitwan and it is most famous for jungle activities. Elephant riding is an important activity in Chitwan. With the help of an elephant, we can travel all around the national park. Sauraha is the major tourist hub of Chitwan where we found lots of hotels, lodges, and restaurants for the tourist. Some of the activities around Chitwan are jungle safari, elephant riding, view of sunrise and sunset, cannoning, elephant and crocodile breeding center, bird watching, and elephant bath. We also see the one-horned rhinoceros (one of the endangered animals of the world) in Chitwan.

Lumbini
Lumbini is the holy place as well as known as the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Situated in Rupandehi district 282km far from Kathmandu valley. Lumbini have beautiful surrounding where different monasteries are built by different countries of the world. Some of the attraction of Lumbini is the Ashoka pillar, Maya Devi temple, the marker stone, Puskarini holy pond, and many Buddhist temple and monasteries in many countries of the world.
