Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has been raising its voice against various illegal and informal activities that are having negative impact on Nepal’s tourism sector. TAAN delegation visited different Ministry, related organizations and demanded for formulating effective regulations to facilitate tourism entrepreneurs in positive way. Although TAAN is making huge effort to appeal government for building a favorable environment with private sector to bring maximum number of quality tourists in Nepal and accomplish Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign successfully but government is not enforcing it. Hence, TAAN along different tourism associations together are going to handover LoU to the Hon’ble Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Rabindra Adhikari.
TAAN executive committee with representatives from various tourism associations have had meetings and interactions on the burning issues in Nepal’s tourism. Every month, the local bodies of trekking regions and conservation areas are charging an excessive amount of entry fees without prior notice to stakeholder/ private sectors that would have a serious impact on overall tourism sector of Nepal.
Therefore, the meeting with different tourism associations have concluded to shortlisted the problems of the overall tourism sector of Nepal. The Lou has been drafted and is in the final stage to handover to Minister Adhikari soon.
